چکیده
Bradycardia after gas insufflation during laparoscopic surgery should be taken seriously as it maybe develop a cardiac arrest. A 25 years old healthy male patient with no medical history or previous anesthesia was scheduled for laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Suffered from unexpected intra-operative cardiac arrest after Bradycardia few minutes after CO2 pneumoperitoneum insufflation. It was immediately corrected with quick response, IV Atropine administration, and deflation of pneumoperitoneum. The patient underwent a successful surgery at the same setting. This article identify successful management strategies in the possible prevention and treatment of cardiac arrest after Bradycardia during laparoscopic surgeries.

A Case of Cardiac Arrest after Topical Phenylephrine Administration in Adenoidectomy Surgery
Some otolaryngologists administer topical phenylephrine for bleeding control in adenoidectomy surgery. Absorption of this drug from surgical site can lead to increase in blood pressure due to vasoconstriction and then bradycardia related to baroreceptore reflex. Our case was an intraoperative arrest of a 9-yrs-old girl related to administration of topical phenylephrine during adenoidectomy how...
متن کاملCardiac arrest associated with use of an argon beam coagulator during laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
We describe a cardiac arrest during use of an argon beam coagulation (ABC) system in an 82-yr-old woman having laparoscopic cholecystectomy under general and epidural anaesthesia. Intra-abdominal pressure (IAP) was controlled to less than 12 mm Hg during a carbon dioxide gas pneumoperitoneum and at first the operation was uneventful. When the ABC system (gas flow 6 litre min(-1)) was used to co...
متن کاملCardiac arrest associated with carbon dioxide gas embolism during laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer and liver metastasis -A case report-
Clinically apparent carbon dioxide (CO(2)) gas embolism is uncommon, but it may be a potentially lethal complication if it occurs. We describe a 40-year-old woman who suffered a CO(2) gas embolism with cardiac arrest during laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer and liver metastasis. Intra-abdominal pressure was controlled to less than 15 mmHg during CO(2) gas pneumoperitoneum. The right he...
متن کاملReflex bradycardia during surgery.
Reflex bradycardia and sinus arrest may occur in a variety of surgical procedures, from neurosurgery to general abdominal, laparoscopic, ophthalmic and facial surgery and even procedures such as liver biopsies and electroconvulsive therapy. In most cases a vagally-mediated reflex has been implicated, although experimental support for this is often lacking. Drugs such as vecuronium, atracurium, ...

Background: Cardiac arrest during general anesthesia is a rare and potentially fatal condition. Despite the progression of monitoring equipments and anesthetic mediations, this phenomenon is still an important problem for the anesthesiologists. Case Presentation: Herein, we reported a 38-year-old opium addict plasterer male scheduled for laminectomy. He had no previous medical history and took...
